A) tell a student who’s miss-behaving, with a quick hand gesture by the teacher to stop, by directing other students attention to the miss-behaving student ie peer-pressure

B) it is also used as a way to gage if the students are paying attention during a lecture, ie give me 2 snaps if you agree x=y…   then wait to see which students snap their fingers and which ones did not…  and direct peer-pressure to students who are not paying attention…

C) Often belligerent students are dosed with Adderall and or Ritalin, which is Speed…  So, if you combine Drugs like Speed with Pavlovs Dog conditioning, you are effectively brain-washing the kids, and may end up with undesirable results… ie the uni-bomber was feed LSD by the CIA, while he was attending Harvard, and later taught physics at UC berkeley and freaked out, to become a hurmit, bent on destroying society, due to his fears of technology and social conditioning.   Just say’n

However, the problem seems to be, you are conditioning the students to use peer-pressure against one another, you are conditioning the kids like dogs… ie “Pavlovs Dogs” , who are trained to attack at the snap of a finger…  oh, the irony…

So students might be well behaved, but they are not necessarily learning, or developing critical thinking skills, rather they are being turned into pawns to peer-pressure & attack others into conforming…  ie they have been conditioned to be “Pavlovs Dogs”.  

The other notable thing about finger snapping, is it also used in hypnotherapy, for similar reasons, to endues someone into a hypnosis, or to bring them out of hypnosis, then threw the power of suggestion people begin to act out in a way they normally would not have, either because they are playing along, or they are easily manipulated for some unkown-reason…
